He holds a Bachelor of Law degree from Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH), where he developed a solid grounding in Indonesian legal principles. To further refine his expertise, he pursued a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Commercial Law at Coventry University, United Kingdom. His international academic background enables him to analyze legal matters through a global commercial lens, making him particularly adept at handling cross-border legal issues and complex contractual arrangements.

Gemilang began his legal career at Pertamina Training and Consulting, a subsidiary of Indonesia’s state-owned energy company, where he served in Legal and Litigation Department. During his tenure, he was actively involved in a broad range of legal matters, including contract negotiation, legal compliance, dispute management, and litigation support. His experience in this role not only sharpened his legal drafting and analytical skills but also gave him valuable exposure to the legal needs of both public and private sector organizations.
